What is dietetics about?
Dietetics is a science that deals with the principles of nutrition, biochemical basics of nutrition, nutrition psychology and gastronomical technologies. It helps to develop diets for children, adolescents, adults, athletes, etc., and methods of treatments of overweight and malnutrition. Dietetics also examines the effects of nutrition, which is produced by new technologies, more and more processed foods, including chemical and processed one, from genetically modified semi-finished products.
Features of a dietician
A dietician is an interdisciplinary medical specialist, who studies the origin of food, the process of food preparing, as well as their adaptation to the needs of human body, depending on its health state and age. Dietetics shall be characterized by the ease of communicating with people and the ability to empathize in their problems. A dietician should be an observant person, able to see relevant information that constitutes the basis for preparation of food rations. A dietician should be characterized by the ability to think logically in order to properly choose products to the diet. Regardless of the circumstances, a dietician must do his work assiduously and carefully, the proper nutrition is the determinant of health state of people.
